Professional Biography
Heather Trantham was born and raised in the fast paced, culture rich, most densely
populated and best eva pizza state, New Jersey. In 2010 the Lord called her to the
majestic mountains of the great state of Tennessee. At first, the slower pace took some
getting used to, but now it has become an embraced way of life. Downtown Greeneville,
“a jewel in the shadow of the Smoky Mountains,” is where she lives with her husband,
youngest son, and foster sons and daughters that the Lord brings into their lives. They
are blessed to finally have all five adult children and their precious grandbabies live
close enough to share Sunday family dinners. Spare time is enjoyed with family,
traveling, playing board games, attending theatre, writing, crocheting, cooking, baking,
and reading.

Working many years as a family specialist with at risk youth as well as a mental health
case manager with struggling adults, Heather has extensive experience in social work
and counseling. She has also been afforded the opportunity to facilitate mental health
skills and Christian spiritual enrichment groups. During this season, she is concentrating
on serving the Lord’s purpose and calling on her life as a therapeutic foster parent,
homeschooling mom, dedicated wife, loving Nana, homeschool co-op instructor, and as
a continual support to youth in residential placement and children staying at the area
Isaiah Houses. Heather’s heart is for the broken and her purpose in Christ is to foster
love. Her passion is to walk alongside others as they heal, encouraging them in the
grace and mercy of Jesus. She counts it a great blessing to be a miracle witness to the
healing power of the Holy Spirit.

Heather has a heart and God given conviction to homeschool, to educate, instruct, and
to impart unto her children. She has been a working, homeschooling parent for over 15
years. Through education, particularly in the areas of psychology, human development,
neuroscience, mental health, and life guidance, Heather believes that teaching these
courses within a Christian worldview and upon a foundation of sound Biblical principles
is imperative. Graduating from Liberty University, being taught by strong Christian
professors, and working with Godly mental health professionals has deepened this
understanding. This is the approach that will be implemented within the courses she
offers. Heather is very excited to be part of Freedom Christian Academy, align with it’s
mission and ministry, and to engage, teach and encourage her students.
